Keep it simple stupid. Simpler is always better. Reduce complexity as much as possible. I know these rules. I agree with these rules. But I don’t always follow them. Consistency is hard. #indiegamedeveloper #solodev #gamedev #indiegame

Initially, I thought you were talking about keeping it simple when writing a novel. Then I realized you were referring to game development. As a programmer and writer, I can appreciate your point-of-view.
It took me a long time to understand that keeping things simple is one of the most difficult part of the job. Especially in game design where rules are entirely a creative process...!
It would be so simple to add a new rule, to compensate this by that..haha 😄
Well, sometimes keeping it simple can create problems of its own. The most simple game only has one button. Most of the time, that isn't that fun--it certainly doesn't create emergent patterns.
