To me, it gets overhyped way too often... I liked it when I played it, all the different ways/paths it has, but I don't think it's a better experience than other RPGs or similar games I've played over the years. Just didn't end up being like that for me personally.
the craziest part is that toby fox created it as a test of his abilities, and is in no way representative of his full power. we should fear that man. deltarune comes any day now
it's an amazing work to be sure.
that said, every single one of the best moments and aspects of undertale are the ones you don't play. and for a video game i feel like that's kind of worrying.
people are always glazing the characters, the snappy writing and the music but you never hear anybody compliment the danmaku or any of the other segments that comprise the combat, nor any of the puzzles or exploration in the overworld.
I genuinely love the combat, it's super unique for an RPG in its regular format and it's used in many surprising ways for important moments that specifically compliment those other elements you mentioned. Games are at the intersection of so many creative disciplines and this shines in all areas imo.
Sim, Anton! Undertale é realmente um dos melhores jogos de todos os tempos. A história, os personagens e a jogabilidade são incríveis. É um jogo que realmente toca o coração de quem joga!
It's definitely one of those ones that once you get past the frustration, it's really clever and good but I'm not sure a lot of people WILL get that far 🤣 I personally loved it.

I gave it a chance until I beat Undine but decided it was boring and stopped.

Something about the art style repels me.
Yes, I know this makes me a cretin. :P
another game that's pretty similar ish in some aspects is in stars and time and i am mentioning it purely because it is my hyperfixation
