There are several ways to get around this, I'm just going to share how I do it and hope it helps someone!

- Highlight your text, select "Line & Paragraph Spacing" in your toolbar
- Select "Add space before paragraph" & "Add space after paragraph"
- Remove extra line between paragraphs

It's best to do this when you're beginning a doc so you don't have to manually remove the spaces between paragraphs like you would if you copied it into Ao3.

By adding the space between paragraphs the doc mimics what Ao3 does and it copies between the two nicely.

I prefer to use the rich text editor on Ao3 as it copies over italics etc some people prefer using the HTML editor and that's fine, this is just how I do it and it's worked really well for me!
