All I can say is sorry for us - and increase defense. And trade elsewhere. No one can depend on us not even us
As it stands only European countries can apply.
They can be changed. It is just not easy as unanimity is required.
We should how ever work on a closer relationship, starting today. Many things can be done without EU membership.
NATO is dead.
Parts of Turkey is in Europe, none of Canada is.
Brasil and Suriname borders France too (French Guiana). Still not eligible as not in Europe (Soth America).
Morocco borders Spain (Ceuta and Melilla) but in Africa so also not eligible.

Why not better cooperation within trade, education, science etc.
Yet, apart from Bylines, I don't think one journalist has actually joined the dots with brexit.

The EU negotiates free trade deal on behalf of its members - I only associated it with trade. I didn't realize the name of the TPP was changed after the stupid US (me) left to the CPTPP now I feel stupid. The Commonwealth confuses me I admit
Brexit weakened the UK but strengthen the EU.
In the end he would have been better off with the UK obstructing the EU from the inside which they frequently did when still a MS.
Hungary has shown us this.
On the outside the UK is not a problem for the EU (an inconvenience maybe).
They also have to reform in order to qualify.
