Massive Apple II in my elementary school’s library, monochrome green screen and disk drives that sounded like the starter motor failing on an old Buick.

My cousins had a cassette drive. Primitives! But my family was sophisticated, we had the floppy drive. And if you took a hole-punch to the side of the floppy that didn't already have a notch, you could write on both sides of the disk!
With those garage door drives the 'groan' (as I thought of it) was pretty quiet. On the Duo Disk Drive it was louder than a car horn. Made using the computer in off-hours impossible because I'd wake my parents up.
Never knew there was an advantage to it. Another great early Apple trivia bit.
