Man I wish I could just be a full time twitch streamer and play games for a living, I donβt even need to make like a bajillion dollars, just enough to live like I do now π

I did gaming content creation/streaming back in the day. It definitely took a little bit of the fun out of it. You have to be ON and HAPPY, play games you're not in the mood for, but it's popular with your viewers. Deal with a lot of cruddy comments. It was so much fun but had its rough aspects.
I would stream some to friends, and it was fun. I would just worry if my income was based on keeping the attention of masses on the internet that it could all just go away if you arenβt funny enough one month. For a hobby though it was a good time!
Stream on the side, just to get your feet wet. As a newbie streamer myself, the hardest part (for me) is to not compare myself to other larger streamers and remembering that everyone starts small βΊοΈ
It's not so much "play the game and tell us what bugs you see".
It's more "we have reports of fonts intermittently rendering incorrectly in the keybinds menu, please test setting every control/key combination across the 74 hardware configurations in the test lab". π°
This is why I usually game with my friends for all of them. I honestly forget I'm live on their end or being recorded on my end a lot because I'm too busy just goofing off on another game with them. XD
I wish I could too but as an introvert it just takes too much energy out of me, more than I usually have left by the evening when I would be able to do it. Enjoyed my 4 or 5 month streaming career though π
That would be a pretty sweet gig! Obviously, there's so much that goes into streaming if you want to promote growth to get to that self-sustainable point, but starting small and starting soon is the best thing. Manifest it for 2025 man! π
All of the big streamers say the same thing. The first part of getting big is being consistent. Get a hand full of followers to start and build from there. The second part is getting good at editing. You're gonna need the tools that come with streaming to attract viewers. The last thing is luck.
Idk if you're doing this already. But make and design merch to sell, reach out to every sponsor you can find, and see if they'd like to work with you.
Do a bunch of colabs with people to build your audience.
Figure out what games your audience wants to watch and play them
It theoretically feels like it would be the dream but then the actual effort to always be engaging, making sure the stream runs well, and constantly playing games even ones you might not like. Gaming would actually be work instead of a hobby.
Yeah I can see it, I think something casually is healthy at the end of the day. Iβm sure its tough to find the balance between being βentertainingβ and just being yourself and taking the stream lightly
Sometimes I think this would be a dream, but then I remember that being a twitch streamer is basically just being a performer. You have to be engaging and entertaining for hours on end, and I am too shy and sleepy for that shit.
I feel like the stress is getting an audience then maaaybe just play games but yeah you really cant take much time off cause people will just go somewhere else
