1970s just peaked

I’m always interested in artistic reconstructions of the past. This is a rather unusual one of ?priests at #Stonehenge featuring face-painting and flower crowns. Interestingly, they are standing in front of a ruined monument! From the UK, 1970s. 🏺

Perhaps 70s _are_ timeliness, in a hellenistic sense, just we are too close to it, in an uncanny valley of frivolous rejection, and can't recognize it? 😉

Exactly. Or... When I studied Lord of the Flies for O level, it was taught to us as a timeless fable about human nature. Now I wonder how else boys who had been subjected to a Fifties prep school education could be expected to behave.

That Golding lied is a well known fact! It was even tested empirically :) There's as much human nature in this book as it is animal nature in the animal farm by Orwell. It's just a dude projecting his fears and cynicism onto imaginary kids. The book did more harm than good to this world...
