We had participants learn adjective-object-location triads, and then, following a break, presented some of the adjectives again as reminders. But - some presentations were subliminal and some supraliminal.
Then we tested memory.

The coolest results had to do with participants' memory for object locations.

Results were consciousness-dependent and memory-strength-dependent.

Conscious reactivations led to a pattern resembling RIF - in strong memories, memories for unrehearsed competitors grew worse (e.g., consciously reminding the banana made participants worse in placing the strawberry).

Unconscious reactivations led to a pattern resembling offline reactivation - they benefited weak memories the most, and caused certain integration with competitors (e.g., unconsciously reminding the banana made participants place the strawberry slightly closer to the banana).

Results support our hypothesis that unconscious activations undergo lesser inhibition than conscious ones do. It may be part of the reason that memory consolidation happens during offline periods.
It also, more generally, demonstrates something UC can do that C cannot.

This is a thought-provoking paper. I have a VERY high level of interest in this topic -- been doing some work in our lab that uses different methods, but approaches some of the same questions from another angle.
