am convinced that any person that divests from big box overconsumption for one year (Amazon, Target, fast fashion etc) and limits social media consumption will absolutely recognize the overconsumption element of it all and never go back.

I gave up big box stores and Amazon a couple of years ago. I do not miss them. Added bonus, I spend much less as I make little to no impulse purchases.
I’ve stopped buying new clothes a year ago, only buy 2nd hand now, and whenever I’m passing through a clothes shop I can’t even favom wanting to buy any of it. It’s hard to see the clothes on the rails without thinking of the damage they do to the planet.
I can attest to this. Deactivated Amazon account and have a screen time limit for social media app of 15 minutes. Once at the limit there’s a popup. I can bypass and unlock another 1 minute, or another 15 minutes. After which it will stop again. Keeps me more accountable with the time I’m spending.

Same with non-recyclable food packaging.
