This is an interesting move. I like the Marlins taking a shot on a power bat with upside. Also curious that teams keep giving up on Brujan despite his blazing speed and decent bat skills.

Matt Mervis (acquired from Cubs for V. Brujan) joins the competition for 1B/DH at-bats with the Marlins. After putting up huge numbers in the minors in 2022-23, he struggled in 2024. Not much of a path back to the majors with the Cubs. Good opportunity with Miami.
