Prior to achieving notoriety with Trigun, Gungrave, & Blood Blockade Battlefront the manga artist Yasuhiro Nightow drew a Samurai Shodown one-shot. He was later commissioned by SNK to design Kusaregedo for SamSho V who despite being a fairly traditional youkai definitely reads as a Nightow creation.
