In fairness he co-wrote a fair bit of them. They'd run out of ideas on Fear Of The Dark. It was a mess of bland versions of their classic stuff and trying to be a rock n roll band. I feel that musically he helped propel them forward. His voice just wasn't right for them sadly.
(I'd only really heard the hits, plus Seventh Son, Iron Maiden and No of Beast before the podcast. Enjoying going through the albums each week tho, tho it's getting a bit tougher at the moment!)
I've been doing the same (with the last week off for Jinjer's new album). Some of those CDs had a lot of dust on them. About to start Book of Souls on Tuesday's drive to work.
