It's just a scheme to siphon more money to religious 'schools'. A public system serves all but caters to none. It maximizes the funding per student by minimizing the cut that goes to admin. One big admin vs 100 little niche ones. You want faith based education, pay out of pocket and/or go to church.

Vouchers do not even benefit families who send their kids to private schools as when the voucher program goes into effect the schools just raise tuition by the amount of the voucher. I speak from lived experience.
