I was introduced to a special edition of Monthly Review from 1984 titled Religion and the Left. A clear-eyed assessment of religion both as a means of comfort, organization, and clarity of purpose for the oppressed, but also a key weapon of the oppressors. Could share this with you if interested

She considered herself to have converted to Catholicism, I'd say, so it's probably fair enough to sum it up that way. It's "controversial" whether or not she received the sacrament on her deathbed, although probably a made up story. But yes not entirely accurate you are right.

The Wikipedia for her is hilarious. Apparently she was clumsy and extremely nearsighted, but did not lack for courage. Not sure how accurate it is but it sounded like everyone was trying really hard to keep her from getting killed.
