Not really. Remember, there’s no algorithm here.
I saw this same confusion first hand on Mastodon from ex-Twitter users.
Without an algorithm to boost certain content types, you have to do the hard slog of building relationships & connecting.
He follows zero people atm.

More like "tepid water" here. Over on X he got 157 likes. Which, too, is down from his usual 2,000. Will need more data, but I'm seeing tons of very low engagement posts here. Very strange given that I've found 9,000 AI people here to follow.

From what I’ve noticed the shape of the content has to change
On X it’s all playing to algo and attention and threads, as well as prestige positioning
People actively don’t like that here and more academic / intellectual positioning does better
