I think that’s quite possible, but I also think it benefits them to be seen that way, whether or not it’s intentional. I’m not saying the guy who sharpies a drawing to move a hurricane’s a genius. But there’s a sense of spectacle here that makes it seem less real. I think that plays in their favour.
