He was never taking a 6 month contract. Granted 18 months is what i was expecting but Moyes probably has the upper hand here, we need a safe pair of hands to make sure we stay in the PL and TFG know it’s very risky to go experimenting with someone unproven and it’s essential we stay up this season
He might have 2.5 yrs, but might only be there for 1.5. Nobody takes less than 2yr contact.
Priority now, is players. Who we get in now. But also, when we stay up. The whole rebuild that will occurs off season with so many players out of contract.
Nothing wrong in going back to regular top 8 finishes and European football. Compared 2 where we r & where we've been it's appealing. He's still got a great eye 4 talent and worked wonders at West Ham. Not glamorous but we just need an identity as a team, something we've not had since he left.
You're right it's everyone's opinion mate. I was more looking for short term and then move him upstairs to replace Thelwell as DoF and then bring in a manager for longer term.
He wouldn't take 6 months Mick. Why would he.
Look at West Ham now. Look at West Ham 12/18 months ago.
He makes loads of sense. I'm on board anyways, hope if/when he's appointed people get behind him now.
Also let’s remember, a contract protects him but there could be break points.
And people keep telling me these are ruthless so if somebody else comes up that they really really wanted then they’ll change
