I think your article highlights something I've been thinking about a lot lately. One of the most frustrating things I encounter in sports analysis/discussion/fandom is the huge bias toward the present, the now, the moment, or the status quo. We see it everywhere, and I find it perplexing.
Equally, we see players who are stars discussed as though
It's kinda weird. Particularly because we see narratives around players get built in some specific moments. But often those narratives are different at different points in their career.
He could play 16 perfect games & talking heads would use the 1 bad game to confirm their bias & push the narrative
