My actual name has never fit right. I use it outside alt/online spaces when I have to. But otherwise many people have only ever known me as Nevermore for over a decade now.

I totally get it. To give some distance between myself and people I don't know very well, such as in online spaces, I go by my middle name, Vincent. At home or with close friends however, I go by my first name. So I don't think it sounds weird at all.

That's fair. My daughter had a friend for a while who did kind of similar, where they basically went through a new name about once a month, trying to find one that felt right, so I can see where it would feel strange to try and settle on one.

Ya know, actually. Maybe it'd help if I didn't let my mom keep using another old name of mine 💀 it's a very feminine name, I eventually started using one that was similar and made the other one seem like a nickname from that. But I'm jumping away from the fem names and my family's gonna hate it 😂

Ofc I'm also gonna jump into masc transition once I'm able to get hormones and surgery. I'm so over them seeing me as woman-lite. And that's just for the ones that accept that I'm trans (so like, my mom and brothers)
