Here's a thing ... when you set a mandatory requirement to reduce the workforce by an arbitrary amount in the public sector, this doesn't mean the workload of those public sector employees that you've laid off doesn't still need doing. They were employed to fulfil a need, and that need will remain.

longer wait times, delays in resolution etc). This is the quiet part they never say out loud. That these cost cutting drives cannot be done as some magic broom that sweeps up only the unnecessary. That everyone who uses these services will suffer.
