There is both supportive reasons for permanent standard time like health. There was also organized opposition from the bankers/visitor industry that killed it in the end.
if this year taught me anything it's that there are more of them than there are of me so I'm not quite sure how you'd go about another try but if you did I'd, you know, probably shut up and let a right wing church pastor support it, or something, I dunno, my support isn't worth much around here 😕

With artificial light available, an hour or daylight is more valuable for after work activity then it is before work.
