As a creative, I had to raise my prices on CHEAP builds when I did costume commissions between 2016-2020
It got cheaper to buy certain bridal fabrics than it did to buy patterned cotton, and that only got worse during covid bc of the increase in demand for fabric/custom face masks

Joann had a sprawling retail footprint and was a victim of the slow US decline toward cheaper, more disposable clothing, but they also suffered a blow during Trump's first term. Trump's 2018 tariffs increased cost of imports and US equivalents were too expensive for customers.

I pretty much can't make kigus now too.
So that's fun
Already had to deal with designing a fashion corset line, only to have about 5k worth of people say they would buy one and then didn't bc I dared charged more than $40
"I already have a ___ corset that's better quality anyway for cheaper"
Mind you, they gave me this feedback by leaving during the promotional photoshoot for my entire design line, without a word to me
Splurge a little more for something made by hand and tears and blood
Please
