In smaller society like ours in NZ, extremism is more quickly perceived. With our cultural background , Act and it's adherents may have moved too quickly to the edges in assumption that it's safe to nakedly display themselves.

Where’s the uptick to NZ 1st coming from. ?
To date Nz 1st are holding steady propping the NACT policies. Maybe they are the fringe cooker vote that never reached 5 %
But why appear now.

I know a couple of Nz 1st voters who historically were Labour voted Nz 1st to stop extreme right lurch. A middle ground vote

Maybe that vote has shifted left but the Nat shift has landed there for similar sentiments.

And, to make the obvious point, the dip in National support and rise in TPM support to coincide with the Treaty Principles Bill. Between the flailing economy and the attacks on Māori, National is not looking good
