My Dell Inspiron laptop (2001) had a removable Zip drive.

It allowed you to swap out the Zip drive for a DVD-RW drive.. so many drives and disks to carry around 🥵

That shape is SO familiar to me. I never had a zip drive, but my Inspiron 9100 (2004-ish) had the same expansion bay, where I kept an extended battery 😂

It got about 90mins at best, with both batteries, and weighed as much as a planet.

Those laptops were super modular.. the downside was how much you had to carry 😅
