Standalone ADHD and autism can appear very similar externally, but there's very different things happening under the hood. AuDHD is possibly a separate phenomenon entirely.

The slightly unpopular hill I will die on is that autism and ADHD are not the same thing or on the same spectrum.
I tend to attribute this view to late diagnosed AuDHD folk whose circles tend to be other AuDHD and don't take into account ND people who only have ADHD or autism.
