If you’re UK I’d suggest getting into your nearest Richer Sounds. They’ll give you some advice and sell you something like an Audio-Technica LP60X for less than £150. You’ll need an amp too if you don’t already have one

Avoid the all in one suitcase style turntables unless you’ll really only be using once in a blue moon. They have cheap and poorly balanced styluses so can damage records
The other option is to look second hand. You might find a bargain out there. Most turntables you find you’ll be able to google reviews and set up advice. Have fun

Yeah. Definitely not cheap. Depends on your tastes but there are a lot of really good LPs you can pick up in great condition 2nd hand. My local record shop has 2 for £5 sales. Mainly 70s and 80s when they were pressing loads of copies. You’ll wind collectors up calling them vinyls btw 🤣
