Significantly weaker even than previous #saintsfc sides that weren't really good enough. I was looking at the team Ralph inherited in Dec 18, deep in relegation trouble with one win to our name - other than Ramsdale, KWP and THB I couldn't see that any of the current squad would get picked.

Yep and you can make a pretty convincing argument that the player quality across the premier league is quite a bit better than it was in 2018

Absolutely, and money talks - when you look at cost of squads assembled by relatively unglamorous teams like Forest, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham etc is it any wonder that we have struggled?

Yep. No surprise at all to me. I understand #SaintsFC fans frustrations but building a high quality squad on a budget takes several transfer windows. We were always favourites for relegation with all of the pundits for a reason.

Yeh, the catastrophe was the slow decline into getting relegated in the first place, not what's happening now. If we go down, keep the better players and add more quality we'll have a better chance next time. Just as B'mouth and Fulham had to do

As a NFFC fan it’s a bit strange how this has worked. Not sure if there’s an option for him to return. We thought he’d be a mainstay but we have better players in that position.

He has been on the bench as an unused sub a lot recently and even when he has come on, it's been for a few minutes only.
