Totally. Erdogan just hosted Zelensky a week or so ago. Absolutely enraging that Zelensky needs the support of "neutral" arbitrators who are total scum (Erdogan, MBS in Saudi Arabia, and obviously Trump now is in the authoritarian category) to negotiate with Putin

It’s been a long slide marked by big shifts (Doğan Group, Gezi, the state purges, Demirtaş, Kavala) in which big sectors of society were targeted as well as individual elites from more vulnerable groups. But the CHP top level has remained physically untouched throughout. Beginning of a new era.

The EU and NATO and every European institution standing up for Ukraine need Erdogan to remain at least pretend-neutral or open to hosting Ukrainian negotiations, right? So will any part of Europe, new leader of the free world post-U.S. authoritarianism, condemn Erdogan for this?

Ekrem Imamoğlu has long been on Erdoğan's hit list. Everyone knew what would happen. Ekrem Imamoğlu ran an election campaign even though there were no elections. Mansur Yavaş is keeping a low profile and keeping quiet. But he could become the next candidate out of the shadow.
