I spent all week — unusual for me, who reads fast — rereading THE WORLD OF YESTERDAY by Stefan Zweig, and the parallels to now and what’s imminent feel a whole lot more potent.

Quote from The World of Yesterday. Vividly recall high school, college + exciting, anything was possible punk photo years. Fun, freedom, joy + very low cost of living. When we could easily rent a place, squat, see tons of shows, be in bands, live for sex, drugs, rock n roll n art. 1967-80. No more.
Sarah, he talks about being Jewish? ✡️ Am so worried. Ebook on Amazon for only 99 cents. Time to get it. No room for one more book in my apt + money is tight. Again, thank you for reminding me altho I will cry. Also want to read the Red Count Diaries I have. A man w/💰who knew everyone. Then WW1.😭💔
Oh wow, I've wanted to read that for a few years. I often think and talk to my pals about Zweig. Yes, that's THE perfect book to read. Now. Sadly. Very sadly. Thanks for reminder. Tragic. #StefanZweig The World of Yesterday.
