I try to keep in mind that coffee doesn’t grow in Canada, no matter which company sells it to you. I’m okay with Tim Horton on the basis that they’re not an American-owned franchise. How they source their coffee is another matter.

Out shopping today, and Van Houte coffee was on sale. This brand is associated with Quebec where it's considered the "Starbucks of Quebec'. It is now owned by Green Mountain Coffee (i.e. Keurig). Picking up the container I noticed in the small script 'Product of USA'. So, no thanks.

I am opting for harbour grounds and other independent coffee shops as much as possible. It is a tough one as Tims is an iconic part of Canadian culture: they do employ a huge number of people however many are part time newcomers.
We need to pick some battles with the USA product boycott. 1/2

You have to read closely, that's for sure, if this is important to you. I'm also focusing on coffees closer to home. I've had Brewed, as well as Muskoka and Kicking Horse, in recent weeks.
