Contrast is king! Use a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for text to ensure readability for all. #accessibility #a11y

Use a modern contrast algorithm (like APCA) instead of WCAG2 for more accurate results!

Nope. This algorithm didn't go through enough testing and has been removed from WCAG 3.0 plans because the author of the algo don't want to go through these testing, because ego I suppose. (Short story)
So no. No APCA until user testing says so.

Oh too bad, it was exciting to have a computation that acknowledged the difference between light on dark and dark on light

A bit of reading of some reason why this isn't enough.
Light perception is all about context.

Having a 2-color comparison with the notion of perception will never be enough. You need a third. The context.

Ooooh, very interesting, thank you! Any chance we see context coming in an upcoming WCAG?

Honestly I don't know 😅
I just know that color and perception is a complexe thing that both WCAG algo and APCA algo didn't solve yet.
But at the moment, WCAG is still the official standard 😊
