The US may be a military superpower, but it won't matter at all if it regresses to 1930s style isolationism at the behest of hordes of low information voters. Russia gets Ukraine, China gets Taiwan, and the UK gets another washed up ex-superpower to share war stories with. 2/2

Oh Russia definitely assisted, but the GOP is capable of playing politics all on their own.

Once people support an issue, the GOP will always take the opposite stance, just to foster the 'us vs them' dynamic.

The GOP doesn’t love Putin out of contrarianism, this all started with Trump/Manafort altering GOP platform re:Ukraine. One of the first public clues that Trumpworld was compromised. Cult members got the message and fell in line. But Russia has been at it a while:
