Good question! My parents are from Scotland and Yorkshire, which perhaps partly explains why we call it what we do, but I have friends in Leicester who do the same.

I've moved around Canada quite a bit growing up, and the meaning of "dinner" varied from place to place. Some places it was lunch, others it was supper.
