well that was the whole point of them getting twitter; if they wanted to be assholes among themselves where nobody relevant could see them, they would've just stayed on 4chan
It's got to be said, the only ones who ruin twitter are ourselves. Granted, for folks in your position it is very much a different story. But for the average person, interact solely with posts that bring you joy and that's what will fill your feed. Do the opposite and well, we've seen how that works
It reminds me of when I moved out of a toxic family member's place finally after they seemed so unhappy about my existence, but oh were they mad when I left. Never happy. Let them wallow. Life is too short to be miserable with them.
Twitter is on a trajectory to become like Facebook, a ghost town. Bots posting for bots, for the occasional human to be confused about.
Bsky is an amazing precedent where people just... left to join a new social platform. It is such a simple action that they did not anticipate like at all.
blue checkmarks becoming a paid feature that also gets your replies boosted to the top was such an unimaginably bad move, nowadays you have to scroll past like 50 chatgpt bot accounts to see something written by an actual human on any given post
Yeah, sorry you're dealing with that. Good news, this place is *truly* less likely to make you want to die! Felt that comment a bit too hard in the video.
If they enjoy the experience of searching for actual posts sandwiched between rage bait, stolen content, scams, and ads that much, they're welcomed to it.
We have to be vigilant of people wanting to come here and turn it back into Twitter. We have to be watchful in case EM tries to buy BlueSky too. If BlueSky incorporates ads or asks people to donate to keep BlueSky open then Id be okay with that. Unless EM tries to ban BlueSky to censor free speech.
I honestly thought they'd be happier, the platform is all theirs, but I guess not? But figure some folk over there just live for 'pwning the libs' or whatever, they need that negative interaction, which is a bit sad if you think about it. Not a good way to exist.
"If you don't like it, leave!"

"Wait, you weren't supposed to do that!"
Because when they say that, it's not that they actually want you to leave, they use that line to try to make you shut up
The difference in the two platforms was like night and day to me. I wanted to come to a place to see more positive thoughts and meet nice people. This is the place, not twitter.
Yup, because now they're forced to actually talk amongst themselves, without people who disagree with them to rally against, and they're all so miserable that even though they agree on most of the vile garbage that they spew, even they can't stand each other.
Crazy how the same people who constantly say “if you don’t like it then leave” or “make your own website if you’re so upset” are like malding and crying rn over people taking their advice
Thats what happens when you stop feeding the trolls - they starve. As much as they like to deny it and yet come right to this thread to try to feed lmao. Free block list everyone! Keep starving them. Never reply to them. Block and ignore. 😘
The only joy they have us through attempted dunks on "the wokes." So when they leave there is no one left try to dunk on. It sucks all the fun out of the site for them.

Making both into echo chambers will just make crazy people on both sides.
