Had similar thing when I was a journalist (in niche minority media). While I stayed on, colleagues went looking for bigger things and ended up miserable working for the murdoch press, daily mail and so on. They were aspiring 20-somethings but that's where the money was. Always been that way 😒
The impact of illiterate STEM folks on overall performance is immeasurable. They're so certain they're too smart to be so wrong about something. We can easily find related disruptions & events. My circles have started openly using "illiterate" as more than a cheap insult. We're truly concerned.
