There are a lot of things to be said about AI and education but “we just shouldn’t bother doing college” is not one of them

If we can't assign research and writing projects outside of class and have some reasonable assurance that most students are actually doing them in good faith most of the time, then we just shouldn't bother doing college. In-class writing and creative prompts cannot solve the problem posed by ChatGPT
