More than 2 million federal civilian employees had faced a midnight deadline to accept the proposal. It is unclear when O'Toole will rule on the request by the unions https://reut.rs/4hMxwFh
The decision by US District Judge George O'Toole in Boston prevents Trump's administration from implementing the buyout plan for now, giving a temporary victory to labor unions that have sued to stop it entirely https://reut.rs/4hMxwFh
Federal employees should ask the Trump administration how they would be paid ? Would they be paid in US dollars or will Musk attempt to pay them in crypto/bitcoin or something else ?
so, the judge ordered the block to the buyout, does that mean these people will keep receiving paychecks? will their mission offices be reopened, and their vendors paid?
sure, except no having a buyout, and not getting paid seem to be the same issue, as is not having any work to do, as is not having vendors being paid. if those that didn't accept the buyout are still gettting paid, and those that did aren't, then it's all connected
They are all part of the same assault, but they aren't the same legal issue. The buyout would be unconstitutional regardless of what other actions he's taking to accomplish the same thing. He's not firing any one or closing agencies with the buyout. He's trying to get workers to voluntarily quit.
