For my household it isn’t a matter of not being able to afford tickets, but it is a huge financial sacrifice that requires us not purchasing one or more alternatives for the same value. Many of these things are frankly more reliable at delivering a worthwhile product

Last night friends of mine who have lower bowl season tickets couldn't go. It is the 1st time ever they couldn't sell their Bruins tickets. They gave them to my son and I. Our upper bowl seats were empty. No takers even at less than face value. Premium priced tickets are just too much.

There were probably 2000 people that were unable to make the game from Vancouver Island. I was at the ferry terminal and saw hundreds of people in jerseys that couldn’t get on a ferry due to all the cancellations. Then, good luck getting on a late afternoon ferry. 2 of those empty seats were mine

There’s got to be a shift coming at some point right? The quality of TV broadcasts has made it so hard to justify the costs of being (and eating/drinking) there.

As a Chilliwack guy the travel time alone would make me turn down free tickets and a limo ride to the game.

the TV thing has been an issue in many sports for a while so Canucks aren't alone in this. But really caught me how many people got in touch about how they want to go to a game but can't afford it.

Ticket Prices are crazy. My plan was to fly down from Kamloops catch a game enroute to the island. Flight, hotel and game ticket: what cost the most? The Canucks ticket!! Instead watch it in a pub with my relatives over the holidays.

Not to mention food and drink costs - $9.75 for a ‘classic - plain - hot dog. Crazy! Couple of my friends stopped in at Costco prior to for the same thing for $2.

yeah got offered student rush tickets today, starting at $109. I think I went a few times like 2021-ish for $30-50 which was lovely.

Student Rush tix 20-ish years ago were 20 bucks day-of and you had to go to the ticketmaster booth in the SUB at UBC (or the equivalent at UBC)

When the BCAA discount came out earlier this season I looked at games in December and almost all of them were very highly priced compared to January so it doesn’t surprise me they had so many empty seats tonight.
