Missimo seems to want to play in Europe, but also wants open a restaurant with her dad (per past comments). Her family is friends with the Dallas Trinity owners. Maybe she’s waiting for her UK citizenship (through her dad) so she doesn’t need to build to the 24 pts required to play in the WSL.

Def worse than NWSL, though assuming she gets actual playing time, it’s probably about as competitive as going to play in 2nd tier EU leagues (e.g. not sure Lily Yohannes is facing tougher competition in the Dutch league)

For sure! I guess my point was that at this point in her career getting regular minutes is probably the most important thing and if she’s actually good, she’ll have opportunities to move up in a year or 2

I’m happy for her. Thought maybe she would’ve signed with the Dash if she wanted to stay near home. She’ll certainly be coveted if and when she’s ready to transfer.

Totally, her signing with Dash (or another NWSL team) and getting loaned to Dallas this year for playing time would have made sense in terms of development (though prob wouldn’t have gotten paid as much)

i also ain't exactly buying the local angle, it's a nice thing to say but she reportedly had chats with chelsea and man city, and city seemed close until they dropped bags elsewhere. i ain't great at geography but london and manchester aren't near texas i don't think.

I agree, but not necessarily because of overseas interest, given she ultimately chose Dallas. I just find it hard to believe that after a lifetime of father-coached/trained, elite level play, she would just settle for “staying close to home.” I think she was sold on USL, just not sure for the good.

If the question is how to maximize development that is likely to attract top NWSL teams or WSL Royals and/or USWNT, the USL SL is not the top choice. Related: comparison of USL SL with Vrouwen Eredivisie? (thinking of Yohannes comparison)
