It is definitely an imperfect solution! Lots of ARMY waiting in that same queue for tickets. I think the only solution here is getting the company to not agree to dynamic pricing and potentially a revamp of the presale system.
i agree, but also understand the bot situation being out of control. not sure of a good solution other than no tm. no presale codes this time which may have been an issue too.
there will inevitably be army who just can't make it as life happens closer to the date & that may be your good fortune.
Some acts use third party tale services that don't allow mark up or decide not to allow transfer at all (see the Cure). But bts gets a cut from tickets scalped back to ticketmaster and they want those $$
Ticketmaster and live nation are bad for fans and artists and good for companies. And the companies are always looking out for themselves first. Gotta love the music business!
I am with you, I just don't know that BTS/BigHit/Hybe makes any money off of the stupid bot scalping/reselling through ticketmaster. The government should have dealt with this any of the many years this has been a problem and huge acts raised the alarm.
I also have had situations where there are too many tickets being resold and ticketmaster limits what i can list them for because they don't want the show to appear unpopular. HYBE has full say over every detail from fees to platinum pricing to resale ceilings.
They are getting a cut of any sales in the TM platform. I don't know contact specifics, but TM can be pressured - they refunded millions on fees to Cure fans. But they don't get anything from vivid or other big resale sites
I don't know. I saw it for the first time with the dismemberment plan. They sold on ticketmaster at $35 flat and then outsourced any resale. It's been a few months, but I remember even the language being more about swapping/ raise your hands of you have an extra.
But you needed a registered code. Ticketmaster seems unconcerned about how jackals they are, but other major acts have done this by controlling the resale market
Yeah if I worked for any big scalper/resale company I'd just buy every big kpop membership just for presale codes. There's no real test, you only need a credit card and to register for them.
well for yoongi's, you did the same process as hobi's and then they sent out presale codes after, not everyone got them, which i think helped reduce the numbers of people trying for tickets. even if the bots get the codes, there just wasn't as many people in line overall if that makes sense.
yeah, this is only time it's been different as far as i know. everytime before this since ptdla, it's been register as we did here, see if you're lucky enough to get a presale code, and then that (not your membership code) is what you entered.
