Entering Dubrovnik by boat it is difficult to fathom what was happening here just over 30 years ago. Such a vibrant place. It is also amazing how beautifully clear (and free of rubbish) the sea is.

Was there a few weeks ago. The War Photo museum and the Homeland War museum at the top of Mt Srd are sobering. And utterly incongruous when you're on a packed street getting jostled by a million Game of Thrones tours.
The War Photo gallery is really interesting. Just off Stradun, Pile Gate end. Set up by a NZ photographer. It has a permanent exhibition of photos of the war in the region in the 1990s, and temporary exhibitions. Currently (or, at least, recently, when I was there) focusing on West Papua.
