New - The Speaker has ordered the House of Commons authorities to close Strangers bar - for MPs and guests - for an indefinite period after an incident of drink spiking was reported to police. A safety review is being carried out.

I mean, given the instances of various types of assault in the commons bars, it's hardly a safe place to be anyway.
I get your point but being able to have a drink metres from where you work is nothing more than a convenience. A perk, not a right or a necessity.
My current employer doesn't force people into the office, but the office they do have has a well-stocked beer fridge, and non-desked seating space, but it's *very* much only for specific times.
