That totally makes sense. I said that when I first saw JPL land on Mars (without a Bucky Ball landing). NASA would NEVER had done something with single failure. NASA ALWAYS has backups.
And I say defund NPR. Its subscribers will make up the one percent, and NPR will no longer have to be subservient to Republicans and be free to quit being so wishy washy. Set NPR free.

What he said said basically, the move to private was due to the safety list being moved to like 1/3 what NASA was required to follow IIRC.
This was completely new and unheard of for NASA.
Meanwhile GOP are raising the debt ceiling and cutting billions from Medicaid, Medicare and SNAP for one reason: $5 trillion tax cut for top 1% (aka biggest reasons for national debt).
