Septima Poinsette Clark, daughter of former slaves, was a teacher, active member of NAACP, & the NACW.
She was the Director of Highlander Folk School’s Citizenship Education Program in TN, which developed many African American students into leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. (See Alt Text)
