Ida Lewis helped her mom tend Lime Rock Lighthouse, R.I.. Ida was a great swimmer & rower who 1st rescued 4 men whose boat had capsized when she was 12. I actually lived in Newport RI for a while and they have a yacht club named after her. So she's pretty famous there and that's where I first heard of her.
