Not all revolutions are good. I teach at the university level and most of the students that are coming in now don't think there's anything wrong with AI doing all the work. Doing any kind of written assessment has become almost impossible because there are almost no good ways to guard against

the use of AI to just write the paper. Perhaps in smaller classes, but certainly not in anything with more than about 30-40 students. This means that there are graduates who don't know how to write a paper because they simply have never done so. Worse, it means that they don't know

The people who hail AI as a "great tool" don't see it in practice & ultimately claim that it is on the teachers/academics to work out how to AI-proof our assessment so that it can facilitate rather than hurt learning. We've got lots of people talking, but I've seen nothing that works

But I think it unwise to choose opinions simply by opposition to their thinking, or to punish thoughts because bad dollar also think them.
