We are not criticizing you, but rather this mechanistic view of low nephron mass leading to hyperfiltration leading to FSGS is just not well supported in the literature.

This is not data on FSGS. The two studies with very small n are the only ones I know. We have very poor long term data on kidney health after preterm birth. Would love to have adult docs be more interested in this topic!

editing a chapter on nephrotic syndrome and the authors listed prematurity and low-birth weight as risk factors for FSGS, and I was aware of the low-birth weight and CKD connection but was not aware of the FSGS connection and it turns out my unawareness was deserved.
