We trapped this 32 yo male Golden Eagle banded back in Oct 1992 in Ashfield, PA. He is a force of nature coming at a live turkey in our bow nets. So if this one was caught in PA and overwinters in WI every year, does he then migrate back to more or less the same area in PA as well, or does that part of the eagle's migration vary?

This eastern population of Golden Eagles breeds in the Arctic Circle and the come south. He was banded in PA his first year of life and at some point stopped going that far south and chose the Driftless Area in Wisconsin to overwinter.

Nope, they overwinter in the Driftless Area in WI, MN, and IA. Buffalo County, WI has one of the highest population of migrating GOEAs in the Driftless Area.
