Evening #GenHour What have you been doing this last week. I have spent more time on planning my #OnePlaceStudy based blog for the #AtoZChallenge in April. Do I have enough for a theme or is that going to make it much too hard to do .....hmmmm

I was thinking about doing the A-Z challenge this year but decided against it. Not enough time this year, but hopefully next year. Enjoying the #52Ancestors challenge this year though, my first time doing it.
After working on English Kirtlands for the WikiTree Connect-a-thon, I'm back to Württemberg church records. We're immediately after the 30 Years War and there must have been one pastor pulling triple duty, as I'm finding baptisms recorded in 2 or 3 different book from parishes ~ 2 miles apart.
The record keepers are *sometimes* helpfully including mothers' maiden names at a time they usually don't, presumably because the records don't go back far enough to have their marriage records. And other times, they aren't even getting a child's name in the baptism record.
This is the website. You blog once per day except Sunday...all 26 letters. Each day peogresses from A to Z about a topic of your choice e.g. books, records, games, stamps etc. I do genealogy blogging, a lot of us do. I do topics related to my #OnePlaceStudy . This is what I did last year ..🧵
From 2014 to 2020, members of the Society for #OnePlaceStudies produced posts for the annual #AToZChallenge as a team effort. Themes included OPS Resources, OPS Treasures, OPS People, and Unusual Occupations. Finding subjects for X and Z was often tricky! #GenHour
Agreed - X & Z are the most difficult letters! I’ve managed to find a Z for my #StreetStudy (& it’s an interesting story) but I’m planning to do the #AtoZchallenge on my #Sudbourne #OnePlaceStudy so it’s no help to me 🤣 #GenHour
Wow, 26 blogs in a month. Not sure I'm quite ready for that! I did enjoy #NaNoWriMo a couple of years back, helped me complete blogs for all of my 3xG Grandparent couples. #GenHour
I'm starting to write them next month and save the blog post and will only publish the blog page on the right day. So really only 26 in 3 months needed if you start now. They don't need to be long posts.
I’m planning to write them in advance - couldn’t do it otherwise! I really struggle with stopping research & starting to write, & with finding the time to write. I should really have started writing by now… #GenHour
I'm in a subscription blackout at the moment so I've been verifying my tree whilst I manually transport it from #RootsMagic to #FamilyTreeMaker. My referencing skills have really improved during the Strathclyde PgCert! #SIGS #GenHour
The challenge itself is going to be enough for me! So I think I’m going to just stick to A to Z. No reason why people can’t chose their own theme though. I’ve just changed my A prompt to a post I’ve been meaning to write for ages #GenHour
