Idk, but I found it extremely annoying. And I have to admit, it made me a bit sad. I'm an extreme believer in exercising your right to vote. I got my citizenship so I could vote for the elected officials who govern my day to day life, and nope.

I, and maybe this is because of where I come from, find voting for the leader the most important part. In the parliamentary system this is the only way to do so. So it was waaaaaaay more important to me. Otherwise, you never actually vote for who is running your country, just those under them.

Random thought, but when you put your Identity+ code in, was it case correct? Not sure if it's actually case sensitive, but I made sure it matched exactly because the phone defaults to upper case for the first character.

It's not that. And my identity was verified, I did everything right. (I've lived in Canada since 2018, became a citizen in 2023)
The identity app is the problem I do believe.

Same! I got a new phone over the weekend and it looks like my verification on the identity + app doesn’t carry over. I’ve emailed the assistance address but no response.

That sucks Sherri. I found the Identity+ thing a royal pain. Mine got hung on reading the NFC tag in my passport. It took me removing my phone case and attempting the process about 15 times with my phone in a different position.

I did manage to vote this morning so there was that small win.

That app was a pain in the fucking ass. But I got through it, got my fancy number, got the emails from the liberals saying I was good to go, and got the email with the directions to vote.

I hope you can provide the feedback on your experience.

Like others, I really don't understand the level of validation they are doing for this. It seems more extreme than what I need to do for my bank. Crazy
